One Year and Countin’
Happy first anniversary to one of our favorite couples ever- Laura and Walt Torbert! Their stunning lantern-lit wedding reception at Lowndes Grove was featured in Weddings Unveiled Summer 2009, posted here if you missed it. Here’s to many more, y’all!

Aisle Style, for sure
The Charleston Museum’s latest exhibit Aisle Style: 150 Years of Wedding Fashion opens tonight, and promises to be rife with eye candy via the frills and ruffles of bygone days- hopefully with nary an Eighties’ padded shoulder in sight. Hosted by Charleston Weddings Magazine and other fab industry vendors, the opening party is sure to be the cocktail cure to a mid-week slump. Should the signature drink be absinthe? A companion exhibit opens on November 6: Preciousness Preserved: Jewelry from the Charleston Museum’s Collections from Antiquity to Today, in conjunction with their offering of (très apropos) calligraphy workshops; click here for more information. Notcho Grandma’s Pickled Peppers
You say Mason, I say Ball…..toh-may-to, toh-mah-to. The point is: the jelly jars of yore have been recast in a thousand darling ways, all of which don’t have to say “kountry”- that’s right, with a “k”. Traipse through your local antique malls and you’ll find a vast array of crusty old jars in a smattering of blues, greys, greens, and clear in a plethora of sizes.
We recently used local Wadmalaw Island Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka to update the classic Arnold Palmer as a signature self-serve “Mason Dixon” drink station at an April wedding:

Guests adored it!
