Little Red Radio Flyer
rPeople expect me to throw down when I entertain, just because I do that for a living. Consider me pegged- I love to entertain in the home just as much as I do at a sprawling plantation. Shocker: I can also get a little crafty- sometimes with a k, but with good intentions!
Taking a cue from my workaday life, I decided to play up one of Camp’s big loves for his first birthday: his new red Radio Flyer wagon, courtesy of his sweet Gram and Papa! You should know that I also have a hankerin’ for all things retro…slightly Americana; think splatterware, oilcloth, embroidery, old tea tins. We had fun with that angle, and of course- a soul food lunch on the perfect Spring day.
The original thoughts:

A few real images
(from our sweet friend and talented photog, Charlotte Elizabeth Photographer):

Chalkcloth kids’ table with animal crackers and old-fashioned tin kazoos

Danish bathtub filled with old-fashioned Cokes, Italian Blood Orange Soda (fave from World Market), Jones Cream Sodas, and lil Pellegrinos.

The wagon chock-full of goodies

Sugar Bakeshop’s buttercream and red velvet smash cake

Mama’s attempt at a little red wagon party hat (don’t even ask)

Parrot tulips- siiiiigh. Love.

I told you I got “krafty”. Pipe cleaner rings for the ladies and boutonnieres for the boys, inspired by my email buddy, Wendy Baner- aka the Pipe Cleaner Lady.

Good friends and family looking on . . .

Is a sweet tooth genetic?

My favorite pic from the partay!
