Mental Musings
Time for a virtual pinfest of mental clippings . . . here are some cool things that have been on my mind lately.
Beautiful image from Haven + Home, one of my fave blogs . . . if I could come home to this every day, I’d have to be less stressed, right?
Simon Doonan’s line with Dempsey + Carroll: positively high-larious. I need a set of them pronto.
Interior designer Jay Jeffers’ studio, via Coco + Kelley
Rehearsal dinner dress idea? Love the bright pumps with this stunning J. Mendel pleated piece, via This is Glamorous.
Die over this balloon save-the-date via Beach Bungalow 8- and below is what you see after you follow the instructions.
I mean, how killer cute and fun, as save-the-dates should be.

Olde Good Things
Typically I eschew places/things with an unnecessary “e”, or I purposely mis-pronounce them to make it clear that an extra e does not in fact make your store/neighborhood/favorite watering hole chic-er. Ex: The Shoppes of Tynecastle, I’d call them “The Shoppa-peez of Tyne-ycastle” just to be a pain.
However, I make a grand exception when it comes to the peeps at Olde Good Things in NYC- have you been? They specialize in architectural salvage and altered antiques, and wrote the book on crusty quatrefoil goodness. Titling themselves as “architecturologists”, they scour the world’s buildings for gems and make them available to us.
Below, a few of my favorite pix of what they have in stock. I am totally inspired by the paint-over-paint tones for our next design day.
I don’t know where I need this door in my life, but I need it.
Yeah, they make tables too- of course they do. This one is ridonk! Love the aqua legs.
Cast stone gothic arches from Mizner’s La Ronda – available through Olde Good Things . . . can they find a home in your life? Someone’s life?
Pistachio green wall tin from Olde Good Things
I know, I know- tell me to get over my quatrefoil addiction and I won’t listen to you.
Butter, amethyst, dove grey, navy, putty- what other tones do you see?
Avocado tin- i just want to take piles of these and do something cool with them.

Fabric Lust
A fondness for flocked prints. A hankering for houndstooth. You name it, I probably have a small addiction to prints, and love to deploy them at our events.
Lately, these are the patterns that are floating around in my head . . .
