The Fall Cleanse

Caitlin and I are gearing up for a big Fall- and we can’t wait to wow our brides as we roll out their beautiful weddings. Also on the books are several big meetings, including design-heavy days where we unveil (pun intended) our renderings to our clients in hopes that they all but pass out from excitement.

I must confess though that I’m greatly influenced by my surroundings. When the clutter creeps up, my type A-ness asserts its huffy self and I am unable to breathe/work/draw/conceptualize without my environment being in tip-top shape . . . read: crisp, fluffed-n-puffed, perfect. Yes, I embrace my OCD-dom.

Last Friday we took the day to feather our nest so that we could really get down to bid-ness early this week. We have spiffed up our entire studio (pics coming soon!) and come across some gems in the process. We set up a little inspiration table in our back room, replete with jute-fringed-burlap table (yum) topped with a myriad of fresh books just ripe for the rifling.

Here are few of our design sources for the Fall 2010/Spring 2011 . . . funny how little of it is actually “wedding-y”.

Hue, by Kelly Wearstler . . . it’s out there, which is what we need to push us past our comfort zone.

Paris Patisseries by by Ghislaine Bavoillot, Christian Sarramon, and Pierre Herme (gorgeous even for you weird savory-tooth-only people)

The Home Within Us by Bobby McAlpine . . . rustic, greige, earthen, to-die-for

Country by Jasper Conran . . . incredible imagery, simply breathtaking

Domino’s Book of Decorating: Aside from the Project 345 New Testament reading plan I’m tackling via my iPhone, this is my new mini Bible. (wink wink)
