Ready, Fete, Go

by Calder Clark on November 24th, 2010

Here it comes, barreling toward you- so you might as well get prepped, peeps!

This is the season of drop-ins and mad entertaining, and your pantry and fridge ought to be ready. Here’s what I’ll have on hand for nibbles and sips:

Callie’s Pimento Cheese, or anything from Callie’s kitchen.

Fischer and Wieser Raspberry Chipotle Sauce. I know, I know, it’s not the prettiest packaging, but you can snag it at Costco for next-to-nothing, pour over a block of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, and serve up with water crackers in a jiffy. Choose a gorgeous Depression Era glass cake stand or jadeite number and you’re cookin’ with gas. I promise it’s good. Don’t turn up your nose, that’s my job. (wink)

Trader Joe’s Pastry Bites with Feta and Caramelized Onions. Ri-dic. I recently stood in line for 99.99 hours in a Gramercy Trader Joe’s just to snag these for cocktails at a friend’s townhouse in NYC. Dead serious.

William Poll Baked Potato Thins- almost too easy to pop out of their box and present.

Laurent Perrier Rose Champagne Brut, my fave!
