You say narcissus, I say paperwhite

by Calder Clark on December 6th, 2010

This time of year is incredible for so many reasons, not the least of which is the abundance of Christmas greenery. The scents of rosemary, pine, spruce, and paperwhites are wafting through my house right now and I totally dig.

About this time of year, I always think back on a sweet couple of mine, Lauren and Mike Hall. Good Tennessee gal, like moi! They had this lovely, crisp December wedding at the William Aiken House and we had a ball designing it. Marni Durlach of Marni Pictures captured the whole affair expertly, of course- but here’s the picture that always comes to mind this time of year.

We created escort card vases of paperwhites (or narcissus!) to carry to the table, so that the tables got that extra “pop” of fleurs as guests were seated. Of course, they doubled as a take-home goodie. Love!
