Parting Favors with Heart

by Calder Clark on December 29th, 2010

Idea for 2011: skip the votive candle etched with your names and a wedding date- très passé and they end up in the trash anyway (sorry, but it’s true).

We typically focus on edible parting goodies, if only because of the above issue- waste, excess, cheese factor, and more.

How about something a little more philanthropic, and inspired?

We designed this parting favor with Dulles Designs, as shot by A Bryan Photo. After listening to our bride Megan’s wishes, we sought out awesome recipients like Heifer International and designed little packets of gifts with the symbol of what was being given printed on the front. As guests left this seated rehearsal dinner, they were thrilled to know that their hosts had given something sweet to a needy family or village in their honor.

Megan and Mihir are v. gracious, I know. For their Sunday night reception (one of many parties that weekend!), we designed zinc dogbone-shaped tags and had them etched with each guest’s name and the donation being given . . . in this case, a wonderful gift to the Lowcountry SPCA.

Have some heart in 2011!
