For the Foodies
I have always admired people who can throw a dinner party and manage to stay laid-back throughout the night. This is because when I throw a party, I am a giant stressball!
That said, I have to brag on the lovely and talented Sally King Benedict. Last night I joined a few friends for dinner at her house (pictured in the most recent issue of Matchbook!!!) and she made the best starter for everyone: crunchy toasts smeared with herbed ricotta. Sally adapted her recipe from a Barefoot Contessa recipe but stepped it up by adding fresh cherry tomatoes to top each toast.
In short, they were heaven and they looked like the photo below:
I will totally be whipping them up for friends (or frankly for myself!) soon. Thanks for the inspiration, Miss Sally!
