Charleston Weddings Spring 2012-Featured!
There’s nothing more rewarding than the opportunity to relive one of our spring weddings—especially in the dead of winter! And that’s exactly what happened yesterday when we received copies of the most recent Charleston Weddings magazine.
Flipping through all the gorgeous work by our peers in the industry made us so proud to work in the Lowcountry and especially proud of our April 2011 couple, Tyler and Danny Newman.
You really can’t go wrong with a warm-weather color story that incorporates shades of Hermès orange and spring green, especially if the said colors are set against an organic backdrop of green marsh grass, magnolia trees, and live oaks at Lowndes Grove.
Huge, huge thank you to local editorial talent and Editor in Chief of Charleston Weddings Melissa Bigner and her team. And big congrats again to Tyler and Danny!

Southern Living Weddings-Featured!
Talk about a way to start 2012 off RIGHT. This morning we received the latest edition of Southern Living Weddings and were tickled to see our friends and clients Ali and Paul featured! The layout is beautimous and sharing the pages with our favorite peeps in the biz ( Gayle Brooker, Cheree Berry, Patrick Properties, Ritzy Bee, Kate Headley, A Bryan Photo, et al) wasn’t half bad either.
Looking back at the couple’s July nuptials reaffirmed our love of all things citrus. The garden party aesthetic is so cheerful and lively, just like Ali and Paul! Huge thank you to the ever-creative SLW team. Here’s to another great year of weddings!

Haskell Harris joins Calder Clark Designs
That sounds really stiff- which would make you laugh if you knew Haskell! My alliterative partner in crime comes to us from Garden & Gun magazine, where she was Senior Style Editor. You may remember past tidbits from her feature and our feature in G&G. Previously, she held posts as Special Projects Editor and Assistant Homes Editor at Cottage Living magazine after graduating from UVA in 2003. (We promise not to do the VA schools snobbery thing, er, maybe.) Over the last eight years, she’s also written for Southern Accents, Southern Living, Garden Design, and Coastal Living magazines- quite the CV, y’all.
Over at G&G, Haskell was in charge of finding and producing every architecture, fashion, shopping, garden, and style story. This parlays so flawlessly into what we do, it hurts. Everybody’s a-twitter over her title, so let me unveil it: Director of Development. There’s so much in store, I don’t think we could possibly narrow it down. Brand extensions, new companies, broader thoughts, LOTS of inspiration- and she’s the perfect complement to my amazing logistician and Director of Operations, Caitlin Sullivan. They keep me sane and motivate me every day to be anything other than a flustered young mama and total basketcase.
In her words: “Seeing human beings at their happiest moment in life will now be part of my daily routine,” she says. “Not to mention the fact that I’ll be surrounded by three of my favorite things: champagne, peonies, and cake! Who could ask for anything more?”
Well said. Welcome to wedding mania, Haskell!
p.s. Don’t forget to follow her on Twitter!
